Mobile Broadband K3765 - won't install under Windows 7 64Bit

Dear all,

I used to own a MC950D which served me well 3 years under XP & Vista. Now being upgraded to W7, which is wonderfully better than Vista, the MC950D stopped working. I called support to learn that there is no driver for it and got sent a K3765-Z instead which is supposed to be supported under Windows 7. And yes I am running the 64 Bit version of it ...

I installed Mobile Connect from the CD and entered the stick which finished driver installation with a "not successfull" message. Installing the newest driver individually, installing MC 9.4.6. and various combinations of the above had the same results. I called support to learn I need to install 9.4.9 and everything will be fine. Still the same result: USB stick does not install successfully and hence not being discovered.

The error message in the details of the driver reads: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

The driver version is 1.2059.0.8 from 9.10.2009.

Best regards,
Simmonelli

Hi simmonelli

Interesting VMC 9.4.9 hasn't been released yet where did you get this from as its not on any of our websites.

you might need uninstall 9.4.6 and try this:

* PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FULLY BACKED YOU SYSTEM UP BEFORE ATTEMPTING*

1. Go to start menu
2. Run ‘regedit’
3. Open this key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\
{4D36E96D-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4. In this key, find the “Installer32” string.
5. If the Microsoft Registration Key is missing, the key has to be added manually.
6. Create a “string” value named “Installer32”, and set it to “mdminst.dll,ClassInstall32”
5. Save the ‘regedit’
6. Open the device manage
7. Find the modem with problem; update the modem driver again by reinstalling VMC 9.4.6

If your still having problems, please could you let me know and also post your msinfo logs.

System Configuration Logs:
  • Go to Start Menu
  • Type msinfo32 in the search bar and hit return to open the System Configuration Utility
  • Select File and Export
  • Enter a file name and save the file

Thanks
