Mobile Broadband - Receives Sms Text A Few Hours Late

Can anyone help or advise the reason why it takes over 2 hours or more to receive text on Mobile Broadband, Help desk useless.
Also help desk told me that you cannot send text from Mobile broadband , thats not what it say's on the box ??.
Can anyone also advise if a pay as you go mobile phone sim work in the dongel ??

Hi Phil52 and welcome to the eForum

There could be a number of reasons for your SMS arriving late. The number one reason would be that your SIM is out of date on the network. To fix this just pop your SIM into a mobile phone and perform a manual roam. To do this you'll just need to go into the network selection part of your phone and select the network manually.

Give this a try and let me know how you get on.

The Pay as you go mobile phone SIM should work in the dongle fine. You'll just need to change the APN details to:-

APN - wap.vodafone.co.uk
username - wap
password - wap

Be aware though, this method will use your credit faster than on a mobile phone
