Mobile Broadband - Unreachable Web Sites - Error 400

I've noticed from reading previous posts to the forum that people are having problems with certain web sites.

I can get into most web sites through mobile broadband, but have problems with one or two web sites

Any ideas why I can't get into techradar.com - just get 400 error web site cannot be found, yet I can get into this web site at work.

With some web sites like halifax.co.uk, I can't get in at the top level just get about 4 squares on the progress bar and it stops, but if I search it in google and go in at a sub level I can get in.

This sounds to me like it could well be related to the issues in this thread: http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=35483

My suggestion of changing the Registry MaxConnectionsPerServer helps mitigate (but not eliminate) the problem.
Another work-around you might also try is using Firefox and the "no-cache" headers add-in that many people on here swear by (tho I've not tried it myself yet, it does make sense).

For me, with IE7 and the MaxConnections hack, the homepage at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/ still takes several minutes (no exaggeration) to fully load via VF mobile broadband, despite my "raw bandwidth" for large files being around 1.2Mbps (143kBps).

Hi IanK,

Thanks for posting! techmind has got here before me and linked you to the page I would have let you know about. If you can add the sites on there, we're in the process of compliting a list of sites to be tested. While we can't guarentee access to every site due to compatibility issues, we'll certainly try our best to investigate situations like this for you ;)

Have you had a chance to try the workaround suggested in the post above? Let me know how you get on!

Cheers, Ben
