Mobile Broadband - Usage in Spain

I am an aged person, so not up to date with IT computers, internet, phones etc etc.

My query is, we are going to live Spain for 3 months, in a tiny village, the owner of the property has a Vodafone dongle that we can rent for 49 eu per month, which he says is the amount he pays.
The Vodafone website states it is unlimited useage, does this mean downloads as well ?
We are in the process of purchasing a netbook or laptop to utilise in Spain, will the dongle "fit" all netbooks/laptops ?
We also want to use Skype, will this work with the vodafone dongle ?

As the dongle is a Vodafone Spain dongle you would need to contact them directly regarding this information as the UK varient could be different to the UK variant.
