Mobile Internet - 0 Bps Download Speed

Hi...

I have a K3760 with latest firmware and am running 9.3.3.10523 Vodafone Mobile Connect on a Lenova laptop with XP professional in a 2nd floor flat postcode N22 5HG
All has been fine with my internet connection, with speeds of up to 1.6 Mps being acheived. However, since the weekend my internet connection has been completely useless. VMC finds Vodafone 3G network with 3 bars, and connection is possible with no problems. However, as soon as connection is made the problem rears it's head. Data is sent (ie - upload speed increases as activity on laptop occurs - internet, VPN, etc etc) but NO data is received (ie - download speed never passes 0 bps). Connection is never lost, and a solid blue glow on the dongle shows constant 3G connection.
I have managed to "force" the dongle to use the 2G GPRS network which works fine, albeit in it's own slow old school way

My GF, who has a Huwaii E272 dongle with VMC lite has EXACTLY the same issue.... although VMC lite doesnt seem to have the same function to force it to 2G GPRS

After almost 40 minutes on the phone last night to 2nd level Vodafone support.... my problem is no nearer being resolved, with the kind gentleman suggesting it's because 3G coverage in postcode N22 5HG is at best "medium" which means inconsitent service... Checking http://maps.vodafone.co.uk/coverageviewer/web/default.aspx today shows a solid block of RED (3G coverage) for the entire area which is a little misleading

My query is important as both our Dongles are used and relied upon for our work...... and inconsistent service really isnt the "answer" we're looking for.... My dongle has caused no problems in the 6 months I've been using it, and my GF has had hers at this postcode for well over a year with no problems to report. The issue really has begun this week

Any help much appreciated

Please can this be moved to the "mobile broadband" forum should it be more appropriate....?

Has anyone from Vodafone had the chance to look into this yet?

Hi Wraped,

Having looked into the signal in your area, all the sites seem to be firing on all cylinders which potentially rules out a network issue, however with two people in the same location having he same troubles, this would suggest otherwise!

What a pickle!

I have sent you an email, all you need to do is reply and we'll be in contact with you as soon as we can and we'll take a look into the network side of things for you.

Thanks
