Like a few others here we are experiencing strange amounts of data usage recent being 3 yesterday 9.7.

I always try to make a note of usage everyday but this weekend had missed doing so.

Here is what was showing on usage on  the following days

9.7 - 6.67

10.7 - 12.4

That's 6Gb within a 24 hour period.  That is ridiculous we do not stream anything regularly and definately not overnight.

Please can someone investigate for us.

Many thanks

After reading the whole post, I have learned more about this topic. Thank you so much.

UPDATE

After getting Sim changed in Vodafone shop all seemed good no strange usage changed everything that could be changed i.e. router id, wps password etc.

BUT

GUESS WHAT "THEY'RE HERE" AGAIN. (Just in time for month end renewal, trying to catch us out maybe? Me cynical as if)

Current investigations are now in place (I'm sick and tired of having to do legwork for lazy corporations) will share what rears its head.

@dra1g Thanks for letting us know.
Please keep us updated.

Can you not put your phone in flight mode overnight? that will stop the usage.

If your on 24h callout then that cant be helped, unless turning mobile data off and leaving wifi on and somehow setting up wifi calling via whatsapp or some other way

@R1KSU

If you just turn off mobile data on a smartphone, the phone and text bits will still work OK, which is usually sufficient for those on 24-hr callout. Though we are talking about mobile broadband accounts rather than phone accounts here.

Leaving data on all the time can be a recipe for problems, unless you have all connected devices under extremely tight control.
