Network Issues

My network service from vodafone when down yesterday afternoon due to maintenance works by vodafone in the area. However, once these works had been completed my sim completely disabled itself and I currently have no network. Apparently vodafone are due to send me a new sim today, but has anyone else had this problem?

To be honest, vodafone are useless in so many ways - once my contract ends I will definitely be leaving them. They have been increasing my bill every month, I had to keep getting into contact with vodafone yesterday about the network issue and it was only by the 3rd time that someone actually provided some solution to the network issue.
