Just moved to Vodafone from Plusnet. Plugged in connect router and nothing. Helpline had to get me to run a hard reset to get online to the fibre broadband Great start!
Now can't get Devolo Powerline adapters to work with this router. Anybody got them up and running. Starting to think I'll just go back to Plusnet again. Their router plugged in and bingo everything just worked.

@Wishy14 Sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your boosters working đ
Have you contacted our Technical team via our Broadband Live Chat, to see if they have any helpful information for you?
You can also increase the Wi-Fi signal on your Vodafone router by using the Boost option on the Vodafone Broadband app, this allows you to choose which devices get a greater share of the Wi-Fi signal, for a limited period of time. This is useful if, for example, you need more signal to watch a movie on your phone while someone else is connected to the Wi-Fi.
Please let us know how you get and don't hesitate to come back to us if you're still having problems.

I contacted helpline when having difficulty getting router to work at all. I was told I would recieve a call back within 25 mins to check all was good. That was 2 days ago! Fortunately after a hard reset it has worked.
I have looked through the "Expert" level access panel but can't see what settings would allow the dLAN adapters to be registered. The adapters were working fine prior to move to Vodafone Fibre and still are as I can reset and configure them when connected directly to a PC.
All i want to know is do the Devolo dLAN 500/200 powerline adapters work through the Connect router supplied after changing any necessary settings?
Is the router/service a VDSL and therfore do I need to purchase some other kit to get the adapters to work?
I really need the adapters to work to get a suitable signal around my premises. The boost option isn't viable for everyday use.
I will have to call Vodafone again if they don't get back to me soon. Their Chat helpline is pretty much pointless as the relations officer last time had great trouble even finding my account!
Thanks TJ

@Wishy14 The service/router is VDSL yes. With the Devolo dLAN 500/200 being a third party piece of equipment, I know this may sound silly but have you contacted Devolo?
You can reach them by phone here: 033 333 60582 or by email: support@devolo.co.uk
If you have no luck with them, I've sent you a private message with details on how to get in touch.

i have emailed Devolo and awaiting their response. The issue is obviously with either compatibility or settings. Devolo are probably one of the largest suppliers of dLAN adapters worldwide so find it improbable that they don't work with Fibre broadband routers.
I'll update when they respond.

Hi,
Which part of the powerline adapters are you having problems with? I ran powerline adapters when I first moved to Vodafone. A network cable ran from one of the ports on the Vodafone router to the powerline adapter and that adapter was obviously paired with the other. At this point it doesn't matter which powerline adapters you are using - the Vodafone hub will be having no baring on if they work of not. It's simply a network cable from the powerline adapter to one of the switch ports on the Vodafone hub.
If that feature is not working - then it has to be pointing at the powerline adapters - the Voodafone hub will not know what is being plugged in to it and to be frank, it doesn't care. The powerline adapter will simply be presenting itself as a "network connection" - nothing more, nothing less.
Or is it the wireless features on the powerline adapters which is being an issue? If so, what are you trying to do - your two choices are either to set the SSID as different, so you can manually connect to Vodafone Router or Powerline adapter by choice, or set the SSID the same - in which case your client will pick the most powerful signal, however it will not hand over the connection from one device to the other.

Firstly, powerline adapters have nothing to do with wireless and use the ring main as a network cable path, so please don't level that fault at devloo. The issue is with the router as I have exactly the same issue with my TP-link powerline adapters which functioned perfectly fine with the plus net hub (bt home Hub a). There is plenty of evidence on the forums of people having this exact issue.
Wishy14, It maybe worth putting a switch in between and see if that resolves the issue. I will certainly be getting rid of this router at the earliest opportunity. I have hard reset my adapters and applied the firmware update and none of the devices are getting an IP. One final fix, maybe to try turning off the firewall and see if that resolves it. If that resolves it, I would switch it back until Vodafone provide a more granular interface.
Thanks

Would you care to explain how the router might be casuing the issue?
The power line adapter presents itself as a "network device". There is nothing smart going on between the router and the powerline adapter. In fact the router will simply see incoming packets of data and not a lot else.
I personally used both Netgear and Devolo adaapters with a Vodafone router - plugged directly into the router, not via a switch and they both "just worked". This was before I moved to CAT5e everywhere instead.
I'm just interested on the thought process that the router will see a CAT5e cable connected to a network device - and will just work, but when there is a powerline adapter in the way (which the router won't know about - all it is interested in is packets in and packets out) it will suddenly not work.

The suggestion of switch is to try and resolve the issue. These devices worked perfectly fine before switching to this router.
I have tested these with a switch and the previous plusnet hub and they work without issue. Connect them to the Vodafone router and any device and nothing can get an IP, so the issue clearly is DHCP related.
