My new contract with Vodafone starts today but the phone (iphone 6) is unlikely to be delivered till early October.
Why should I have to pay close to 1 months worth of a higher contract and not stay on my current one till the new phone is delivered?
Don't mess with stupid people. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Yes shame shody and dodgy practise being applied to me. My new (upgraded) contract commenced last Tuesday. They now can't tell me when the device will be delivered...

Because you're paying for your line rental, which Vodafone is still supplying, regardless of the status of the handset's delivery.
But if you can't use it then it is rather pointless. And it isn't just the line rental part because if it was then surely the cost would be the same as the SIM Only equivalent cost.

As someone else mentioned, those that took insurance out (like myself) are paying insurance for a phone we don't have yet.
The £5 per FULL week is nice (which we will see in JANUARY) but not really going to cover the extra cost over the 2-4 weeks waiting..

Hi JohnMuggleton,
Welcome to the eForum.
Have you tried entering the reference number in your screen shot into the box on the right hand side of DPD's web site here?
Thanks,
Sarah
