I have been with vodafone for a few years now and i also have 4 lines/phones with them. Everytime one of the contracts is due to be upgrade or is getting close to ending, i normally get a call from upgrades and get a better deal.
On my main/1st Contract phone now has been out of contract since April 2016 and i have not had a single phone call to ask if i want to upgrade my mobile or tariff and its now the begaining of september 2016.
Because of this i feel that im not longer a valued customer and cant understand why they would not want to keep me as a customer considering i spend £150 a month with vodafone. Because of this i have chosen to give my 30 days notice to leave my contract but what i want to know is, is this normal because from my experience they normally call me and with no contact for me to upgrade for almost 5 months since my contract ran out and me paying more than i should i feel its wrong and would like to know if i have done anything wrong keeping in mind i have been a cutomer for years and always paid my bills on time.
Thanks in advance to anyone comments/help

To all them people who say vodafone dont call were wrong.
I was called today and was told they have had some computer errors and this is why i was not called. Also i was given the best deal for the new iphone 7 preorder.
Iphone 7 Jet Black
6GB Data
Ulimited calls
Unlimited texts
No headset charge
For £42 amonth
This is the same amount as my last contract but considering the iphone 7 cost more this year due to pound falling, i think it reasonable.
There was few negative comments made but i want to thank everyone else for your opinion and comments.

Hi there
The onus is on us as consumers to keep an eye on our upgrade dates and ensure that we aren't paying more than we should. Why didn't you call up to ask about your upgrade or do it online or via LiveChat?
A call about an upgrade is a courtesy and it isn't something that is guaranteed, nor should it be expected. I can honestly say that in all the years I've had a mobile phone I have never once had a call about an upgrade with Vodafone or my other provider. But then again, I have opted out of any form of communication - so that may have an impact. Perhaps you have done the same?
But mobile networks aren't the only companies not to call around upgrade time. Our TV provider has never called us once when we're due an upgrade. However, we have called them and got some great deals.
Does not receiving a call make me feel less valued? Not really - in fact I am actually quite pleased that I haven't got any calls. You see, we all have different likes and dislikes. I dislike being called, where you prefer being called. This means that any provider is going to be stuck between a rock and a hard place - they just cannot please everyone with this.
So, don't take it personally that you've not got a call - it isn't personal. Perhaps take control of the situation and call up to see what you can negotiate.

I understand what your saying but i have always had a call for all my phone when they as close to ending, I think im going to wait until the iphone comes out and if no call has been made, i think i will ring once and if they dont give me a good deal first time i will leave and return to 02. Also in regards to my broadband i have always been called by BT and my last provider EE.

@rooneycr200888 With all due respect but it beggars belief that the fact that Vodafone have not called you offends you enough to think about changing networks.
Did you think about calling them?
The logistics of Vodafone calling every customer when they are in the upgrade window would be an enormous time consuming exercise. What is your definition of "a valued customer"?
I have been with Vodafone 20 years and never had a phone call to upgrade, neither have British Gas or Virgin Media ever called me to renew or upgrade my contract but believe it or not life has gone on. If I want to change something I pick up the phone and be proactive about it.

it maybe a big task to call everyone but they earn there money doing it. Just because you dont get calls from your provider does not mean it does not happen.

Generally Vodafone don't discount the iPhone, particularly the latest version. I still don't understand why you have left it for so long instead of taking the bull by the horns and sorting it out yourself.
You are very lucky, with multiple providers I've never had a call. When the contract is about to run out, I take ownership of the upgrade and call them and sort out the upgrade.

Vodafone has million and millions of customers. To call every customer when they are due for an upgrade would mean making thousands upon thousands of phone calls every day of the week 52 weeks a year (I estimate 10,000 a day). The logistical task of organising that let alone the cost makes it a total non starter.
Like Kids I've never had a phone in the 23 years I've been a customer nor would I expect one. I know when my 4 lines are due for an upgrade and I organise myself accodingly.

I have had a similar service, therefore im off to new green pastures
They appear to be looking after new customers and failing on the old ones if you ask me.
I was told that i cannot get any discounts on upgrades as i am self employed and therefore donnot qualify for the "new DiscountClub" ?
Been with them for many moons , cant remember how long, with 2 phones and mobile broadband. I have spoke to another network and all sounds good on the other side.

same old story, only look after new customers. Thats why i asked for my PAC code.

I see no evidence that Vodafone looks after new customers. In fact, they are very clear that new and existing customers all get the same deals at the time they take out a contract.
