Hi.

There is noo ring tone when someone who is not in my contact phones me, The call does come through fine and I can answer it, however if someone who is in my contacts phones me the phone rings no problem. All other sounds work fine.

It sounds like you have call screening activated or haven't assigned a ringtone to numbers that aren't in your contacts.

I had a similar experience recently after playing with the DND (do not disturb) settings. (on a HTC m8)

It could be that you have somehow flagged your entire contacts list to be allowed through the DND but another number would remain silent.

Check the quick toggle buttons to see if DND is active or go into settings - Sound & Notification.... Tap on the DND entry for additional options or simply turn off the on/off switch.
