Note 4: Firmware update needed for Gear VR

Just got the Gear VR for my Note 4, and the phone requires a carrier firmware update to work.

 

Looks like most other networks have updated.

 

When will Vodafone release the update, as I've just got a big white paperweight at the moment!?

I'm afraid that Vodafone won't comment on when a particular firmware update will be availble.  For further information. please take a look at the Firware FAQs

Hi, vodafone dont give out estimates on firmware update releases.

Thanks, but this really is disappointing.

 

The GEAR VR info has been avaialble for months, and it looks like most, if not all other carriers have got their firmware up to date and working.

I have just recieved a Voda firmware update (notified via SamMobile and even though the OTA update check on the phone said I was up to date, it is available in Kies). Still Android 4.4.4 but this might be releated to what you are waiting for?
