Morning all,

today (9th May) I got notification that the OTA Marshmallow update for my Note 4 is available. A whopping 1.6GB in size!

I know what I'll be doing tonight. Will let you know how it goes but have any other N4 users done it yet?

I believe that this is the Note 4 and not the Edge.  The functionality will be different as they are different handsets so you won't get the true feel of how Marshmallow works on the Edge if you are comparing it with the Note 4.

Perhaps you'd be better off asking the question in the S7 section?

well that was painless - 30 mins or so to download and about the same to install and optomise the apps so about an hour in total.

Did the factory reset and set the phone up again and all seems good. The biggest, and most annoying, difference is the granular app by app permissions - every time you use an app for the first time you have to agree to in some cases 3 or 4 different permissions.

Everything else seems fairly similar to KK - some slight menu tweeks but I was able to use the phone as before without having to do to many things differently.

Any Q's just ask - build details below.

One important thing I've just noticed..... if you use the fingerprint scanner remember your back up password. When restarting the phone, or turning it off and on, you cannot use your fringerprint to unlock it you have to use the backup password.

Not sure of this is the same with pattern/face unlock as well but just be aware.
