Wifi calling

Hi could anyone tell me if the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge can use wifi calling on vodafone, as I was led to believe it was when I took out my new contract.

All the handsets currently available for Wi-Fi Calling are listed here, the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is showing as coming soon.

Thanks Charles any idea when coming soon is. The whole point of me upgrading was to get wifi calling, but seems like I still can't.

A firmware update is around the corner. Possibly this week.

I can confirm that following the recent firmware update my S7 Edge is now successfully using WiFi calling.

My wife's S7 however still doesn't have the WiFi calling option despite also having installed the update.

That's funny. My phone had an update yesterday morning but it does not contain the wifi calling option. Are yours and your wife's phones both branded and bought through Vodafone?

Yes, both were pre-ordered on the Vodafone website at the start of March.

I sent the CALLING text to 97888 straight as soon as I received the phone but it wasn't until yesterday the option appeared.

I was quite surprised when the WiFi calling notification popped up but it's definitely there and working fine - for me at least.

Latest update. I sent CALLING to 97888 again on my wife's S7 and once the reply came back it is now showing the WiFi Calling option.

That's strange. I had messaged them ages ago to enable wifi calling. I have done this again anyway. Let's see if it appears. Where in the settings menu is the WiFi calling option anyway? I have been looking under applications, phone.

It is odd - I sent a text from both phones on 9th March but only my S7 Edge was enabled automatically. Resending from the S7 did the trick.

Go to Applications->Phone and scroll to the bottom. Under Vibrate is a new section called "Wi-Fi Calling" with a toggle button.

Also, if Wi-Fi calling is activated you get a symbol in the status bar and a notification in the pull down. I've discovered you can dismiss this one but it comes back next time Wi-Fi Calling is actived again.
