Hello
Is there a way to check stock for the Note 8?
I returned my S8+ as i was within my cooling off period and went for the Note 8 instead , This was pre-ordered yesterday.
How likely is it i will get this phone Friday?

I've not heard of delays as of yet like what happens to Apple iPhone launches.
Vodafone should email you tracking info when it's been despatched.
Further information in > Track-my-order.

Sod going through that crap with Apple ever again. Vodafone website still saying Delviery 15th/pick up in-store 15th. Fingers crossed

Lol.
When I used to purchase iPhone's my habits were to wait until the phones had been unboxed and reviewed properly by owners and by that time is normally just walk into an Apple Store and walk out with one.
For my own reasons I now buy Samsung's. I pre ordered my Samsung Galaxy s8 and picked it up on the release date with no issues.
I'm looking forward to real end users reviews to help me form an opinion too. I've used the working demo models in my Local Samsung Experience Store and found it just a tad too long for my own usage.

Hi BANDOFBROTHERS I made the mistake of going in store in town to actually have a mess around with the NOTE 8 and the S8
Well as Good as my S7 EDGE is after half hour of using the basic in-store versions it as made my device look like an acient relic
Although I still love it once I saw how much the s7 is still being sold at, the store I went in wasn't Vodafone but was one of the major network providers had a price of £499 I was amazed at this as I thought they had finished selling it which gave me more confidence in m device for security updates.
The S8 and the NOTE 8 are absolutey amazing design wise and the ones in-store although limited what you can do were excellent
If I could upgrade today I would do it straight away. But on the little use I had I would go for the s8 as I think that pen would be lost within a month or two.
I'm jumping the gun here but the s9 that as a possibility of an early release in the new year is going to have to be the ultimate master peice to better them 2 devices
The only gripe I would say is I was a little disappointed with the s pen as there wasn't much j could do with it.
It did seem a little gimmicky but I couldn't really judge that on the in-store ones as they are limited to The in-store operating system.
The canvas application was showing how responsive it is but it did feel it could be a little more robust it felt hollow and drag
fragile although I am heavy handed .there is a button on the pen but I couldn't find a use for it.but I would settle for the s8 I read some reviews and many said if you have an s7 they wouldn't upgrade but from the ten minutes I had with it I was sold, the extra screen size looks huge yet it still looks slimmer than my s7 I Wii probably upgrade to the s8 when I am further down the line.
Also I didn't get a chance to use Bixby so I will find another store and see if I can try it.
I want to see how better it is than s voice of which I still haven't used I am wondering if there is any thing s voice can do that Google assistant can not do or am I missing out on a usefull feature?
On the last couple of months I had with my s5 I got it to start reading out calender appointments with the time and whatever I had put in to do that day and it wasn't with the artificial voice it had when I first got it.
Would any one recommend activating S Voice or just stay with assistant as i am also worried that I could no longer use it due to the home button that activates the Google assistant as that also requires a long press on the home button although after last update have to long press the home button then the microphone which is not a big deal but it was much better using it just with one press
I'm going to find a master plan for the s8 I took too much notice of reviews early on saying that the extra screen size is good but there are no use for it at the moment as the screen ratio is so new there was no use for it and i kept hearing about people watching films and you tube clips with 2 big back lines were the extra screen size is but surely it as now been optimised for the extra size
Another feature that was on the s5 after the last update was were you could hold your hole your finger over the screen without touching it and it would pop up in a bubble and I miss that as my eyes struggle. I am now curious why it vanished

Hey @DRUIDDOODE
I prefer the s8 over my previous s7 edge for a few reasons which I've broached with you on other past posts.
The action of watching YouTube videos and the black bars is helped by adjusting the ratio if so wanted but can crop some of the video. It's a trade off kind of thing.
The s pen brings incredible additions to the Note 8 phone but there only useful if they meet the wants and needs of the individual.
Making notes on the screen.
Hovering over entire senteneces to translate them. There's too many to note down. Lol.
Losing the s pen can be an issue I agree if it's not returned back in to it's slot after use.
I use both Bixby Voice and Google Assistant and find each has it's merits dependant on what a person is wanting to achieve. Bixby is still learning from me so right now Google Assistant is more refined.
If I may add thus YouTube link you may find this interesting.

That video is the first time I have seen iit in action
I thought you had to press the dedicated Bixby button to use it the only problem I would have with that is the microphone on constantly listening for a command as I'm sure it must be a bit of a battery drain but the s8 has been optimised a lot better and may not be an issue and I'm sure you'll be able to turn it off and just use Bixby button but I bet that Bixby will get better and better the more it gets used to your commands
Did you use S Voice on your S7 when you had it and if you still had it would you use S Voice or Google assistant,?
I haven't activated S Voice yet as I'm worried it will affect Google assistant because it uses the home button
In your opinion would you recommend keeping S Voice unactivated

Yes i agree Bixby would use more of the phones resources thus using more juice by using voice activation as the phones sensors are constantly listening out for the command @DRUIDDOODE
I prefer to hold in my dedicated Bixby button to lay in a command.
In regards to s voice the answer is I never cared for it so didn't use it.
Google Assistant does what it does well. This is why on my phone I use Google Assistant over s voice.
