Hi.
I'm new to this forum and hope you can help me.
I bought a second hand Iphone 6 and inserted a new Vodafone pay as you go sim. I put credit on it and can make calls and send texts from it but when I try to ring it from another phone it shows up as an invalid number? The phone is so I can keep in contact with my daughter so I need to be able to ring or message her. Any help would be appreciated.
NB I've tried switching off the phone with no joy.

Hi @klushed
This may help.
From your Home screen, tap on Settings.
Scroll down, then tap Phone.
Tap My Number.
Enter the required number, then tap Save.
Restart the device by switching it off.

Just to add,
As a process of elimination to rule out the sim card or phone that maybe at issue can you please try your Sim Card in another phone?

Hi @klushed
If you are able to make calls and send texts and receiving returns an invalid number, it sounds like your SIM has not been fully acivated. Try dialling 17298, this will activate the SIM. There is further information on this below.
How do I activate and set up my new SIM?
If you have not already synchronised to your itunes account, this will download the correct carrier settings.

Thank you to you all for your suggestions. Turns out it was a faulty SIM. Bought another one and everything is up and running now.
