PAYG Auto Top Up?

Anonymous
Not applicable

For several years we have been happily using an auto payg bundle paid for by a synchronised auto top up from our credit card. The latter option now seems to have stopped/disapeared. Does this mean we have to manually top up credit in order to pay for the bundle? or am I missing the point?

Hello.

Auto Top Up is still available as far as I can see and some help is in this help and support   Vodafone link here Can-I-top-up-automatically.

Check things in your myvodafone

If you get stuck then do please speak to Customer service via Live Chat from a Computer or ring 191 (25p per call if connected to an agent) They alone have account access and will be able to check this over for you.

I'm aware that Vodafone has recently introduced a new and improved top up service on 2345, but customers need to re-register their details to continue to use the service.

I suppose this may also have resulted in a need to re-register your card for the automated top-up service. I've just tried looking at my account, to see if there were any clues there, but unfortunately I don't seem to be able to access the 2LA just at present! There's something I need to do with my account asap, so I'll try it out again a bit later, and see if I can discover anything then about the auto top-ups.

I'm not sure how big a change is involved, but it could be that you'll need to top up on a one-off basis for a month or two. I'm sure that you'll be able to re-register for automatic top-ups before long, as one of the aims is to get the whole top-up business operating rather more smoothly - though it does sound as though the old system has worked fine for you, in which case you're probably wondering why it's changing!

Update: I've now managed to access my online account, and the section relating to automatic top-ups isn't there - which is probably what you were saying initially! I suspect that for the moment the way to set this up is via 2345.

Thanks for the response. Yes that is the point. We have reregistered as instructed and I went to check that the new instructions had been updated on line and as you say that section has dissapeared. So we have no way of knowing if the top up will happen! Topping up manually is a pain, IO'll see what happens next month"

Thanks again for following up at least I know I wasn't missing something.

If you've had instructions to re-register and done that already, it could well be that things will just slot into place before your next renewal. One of the problems is the unimaginable scale of even minor changes to Vodafone accounts. I've no idea how many people will have been on auto top-ups, but there could be 10s or even 100s of thousands, not to mention all the people who do one-off tops-ups, so there is a lot going on behind the scenes, and some info may drop out of sight for a while without necessarily being lost.

Yes where on earth has this gone? My daughter has run out of credit and cannot use her phone, how do I setup auto topup again? Mine disappeared. Apparently Vodafone does not want to take any money.

I would use live chat but it is busy. Hoestly, every time I need to interact with vodafone, I want to tear my hair out. Website is awful, support is a non existent.

To set up auto topup again, you need to go via 2345 - the online route no longer works.

Unless you have access to your daughter's phone you won't be able to set it up for her - at least I don't think so! But you should be able to top up her number using http://www.vodafone.co.uk/shop/existing-customers/topping-up/index.htm

Thanks for the help.

Why on earth would they remove it though?
