PAYG Dongal

huggybear
4: Newbie
Hi I have a PAYG dongal with £25.00 credit on it and when I try to use it, it connects to the internet but then keeps asking me to top up. It will not let me go to any other internet page. Does anyone know why this is the case. I contacted Vodafone and they said I will have to transfer onto a data plan that will only last 1 month. What can I do.

Thanks.

In short read the many topics on this very subject here at which point you'll realise that Vodafone have totally changed their unique offering. At that point you'll realise you'll be better off elsewhere and demand a refund of your unused credit - which will take perserverence to obtain.

Try the main complaint topic here for starters:

Yes interesting and disappointing. Not surprised though. Who would you suggest I contact for a refund?

I rang up on the main Vodafone Newbury number (*) then asked to submit a formal complaint pointing out the service was no longer suitable for my needs. I then pointed out the credit in my account and was offered a refund - but that's unusual - others have had more difficulty. It then took several weeks including another long call in order to actually get it.

* - if I put it on here it'll probably be deleted - just Google < vodafone newbury > and ring the standard geographic STD number that appears - unusually with only 5 digits instead of 6 in the second part.

Hi huggybear

I can see drj has already made you aware of the changes to mobile broadband Payg top ups.

For terms and conditions see here.

Thanks

Hi sukhi

I have just called Vodafone and spoken to someone very nice chap. He tried to help but could not and suggested I get back onto the forum. Basically I have £25.60 on my dongal and although I am offered to transfere onto a monthly scheme I don't want to because I would not use it. I bought the dongal because I could top up and use when I needed because it had no time limit but Vodafone have changed the terms and conditions without letting me know so I have not been given a choice what to do. If I had I may have tried to at least use it more.

I have 3 contracts currently with Vodafone and would appreciate someone looking into this obviously others have been given a refund so it is possible.

Thanks for your help.

Try ringing and asking to submit a formal complaint - worked for me

Hi thanks for your message. I think I will have to due to the fact no one from Vodafone is answering this. I
