Re: BT network issues on suresignal

Is there any news on this? I connected our suresignal to the router on the evening of the 20th. It immediately showed up as active in the account on my vodafone. But I just can't get it to connect - Two amber lights and flashing power light. The router is upnp and I've even tried putting the SS in the demilitarized zone.

I contacted Vodfone help yesterday and they said all will be well 12 - 24 hours on. 18 hours on should I sit happy?

Getting the thing to work will be a huge boon ( and keep a couple of Vodafone customers) as we are in a dead spot here!

@Charles what about the issue of not being able to add other phone numbers?

Still getting

Sorry, there seems to be a problem.

We're working hard to fix the issue, so please try again later.: 500, 2004 - [2j2]

As I said to DaveCD that has to be at the VF end as you are supposed to be able to set them up from the get go.

Four weeks tomorrow.

mattogden - just out of interest, who is your ISP [I assume BT] and what router are you using?

@trolleybus ISP is IDNet and modem/router is a TD-W9980

Cheers

@Charles have now reset the SS3' all phones & our Infinity 5 router. First 3 lights solid but the maximum I can get is 1 bar. It's now 9 days and it started without any hanging at my end. Please can someone help getting this fixed.

Have done all the recommended resets etc, still no signal, and little support in getting it fixed

@Charles nothing here after more than 24 hours, and still can't add phones via the website.

I took the bull by the horns and moved my SS2 from from beside the Draytek router to its normal position in the middle of the house connecting via powerline ( a concrete house means I have 3 wifi hubs connected through powerline). Turned the power on and did a SS2 reset and after 8 hours no joy. Red light on with one white flashing, SS2 was "talking" to Vodafone but not competing the connection. Did a 6 second reset this morning ( power not disconnected) left home to play a round of golf upon my return 4 hours later SS2 was working. All I can say is if you are desperate for your Suresignal to work, spend the money on a Draytek router and make sure you upgrade to the latest firmware. Expensive I know but it sure is good to have a working mobile in the house.

I also use my SS3 inconjuction with an Ethernet over Power adaptor and it works fine. If the EoP is likely to stray onto another network, as mine can, then press the EoP button to lock into your network.

Just to be clear dalison is talking about the use of a Draytek 2860 router with the latest firmware. I personally had no success using a 2830 or a 2820.in trying to get the SS3 working with FTTC.

dalison uses BT wheras I am on Zen.

Totally same here. Absolute pile of junk and the so called technical support! Ha ha don't make me laugh. Why on earth did I leave EE. They had no signal at my house but there boost box never went off.

Hopless.

As risk of repeating myself, if it is essential you have a SS working and can afford to spend the money (£300) junk the Hub5 and buy a Draytek 2860 upgrade the router to the latest firmware. Once this is done the SS WILL WORK. Trolleybus found this to be a solution for him and it has worked for me. I am afraid that otherwise you will be stuck in limbo between BT & Vodafone. I had a bad experience with "customer service" with an SS1 we inherited when we took over our factory, I bought everything from the liquidator. I wanted to add our numbers to the SS, but couldn't deregister it because I was not the original owner. Vodafone can't cope with this scenario I was told to take to the local shop to prove I "owned" it and they would advise the help desk. Needless to say the shop had no idea and were rude and unhelpful. In the end I gave up. I am seriously looking at moving to EE if their signal box works as I am out of contract SIM only. No real loss to Vodafone I guess, but when their customer base desert them!!! Here's hoping they do.
