Hi Mike, good to hear all other aspects look in spec.

the charger is different.... And different readings.

sure signal charger - input 100- 240v 50/60 hz 0.3A

                                 Output - 12v - 1A

replacement - input 100 - 240v 50/60 ha 0.15A

                      Output 12v - 0.3 A

if you think that this is contributing just let me know.

it does power up the unit.

i will have a genuine replacement with me by tomorrow a.m and will then plug in and start again if necessary.

look forward to your reply.

Hi stewcos,

As I suspected, your replacement power adapter is only capable of supplying 1/5 of the power required for the Sure Signal. Even your original unit was slightly under rated.

The correct output rating is 12v - 1.5A  ....... A 12v - 2.0 Amp unit is also satisfactory, in fact I prefer that one myself.

The correct replacement units can be purchased from Amazon or Ebay at a cost of around £10 -12 inc. delivery.

Just search on each site for 'Sure Signal power supply' It doesn't matter if it is designated for use with the V1 ...... they are exactly the same! :smileywink:

It might appear that your SS is powering up, but I can assure you that it only partially powers up and comes to a stand still when it tries to turn on the 3G signal.

Regards,

Mike.
