As per the title, the recent OTA update has killed my battery life!
IMS Framework is now always running, and that stops the phone from going to sleep - so it is always awake.
The battery lasts only for a couple of hours now - making the phone useless for business use while travelling.
Before anyone suggests it, I have done a factory re-set, and cleared the phone cache - same result with just the phone software running - no Apps installed.
This is appalling!
How can I revert to the previous phone software?
Vodafone, you obviously didn’t test this last release!!!

I could kiss you. As I did a full copy to my hard drive of everything on my phone I can do exactly what you said ....SWEET

I have a Samsung S4. Previously it used to give me about a day of battery life. Now I get about 4 hours.
Previously the screen took most of the power and now it is
Android OS 31%
Android system 18%
IMS Framework 16%
Screen 11%
The phone is useless now since I do not sit at a desk all day with a charger to hand. I have disabled Rich Communication as someone suggested but it is not clear it had made a difference. Are there any other ideas? My next stop is the Vodaphone shop to ask for my money back!

Hi JohnRogerson,
If you feel the phone has developed a fault, see how to arrange a repair here.
Thanks,
Sukhi

Sukhi, it is not a 'fault' with the phone - it is directly related to the recent OTA update.
I have tried to constct Vodafone support directly, but have been totally ignored!
When will Vodafone issue a fix for this fault???

Did you do a factory reset after the update? This is generally recommended with Samsung devices in particular and clears out any bits of the old OS that are still hanging round and confusing the device. If there's still a problem, it may be another issue and the repair route would be the way to get this fixed.

Yes, twice, and it made no difference - this is a software bug!!!!

Hi Eugene7,
We aren't aware of any general issues with the latest software release.
The next step will be for you to either arrange a repair or contact the manufacturer.
Thanks ,
Phil

You all might want to have a look at this link.

Our HTC phones have been updated TOO, with what look like the same sort of issues.:smileymad:
And yes it is a long post, three month we have been waiting for someone to sort it out. Oh and they will tell you YOU are the only one!!!!
Having the phone repaired make no difference. i'm on my third HTC phone, same old issues.

How can Vodafone NOT be aware of the issue - we have all reported it!
I have tried on numerous occasions to contact support directly - but no one ever gets back to me!
And look at previosu posts - is seems Vodafone are aware, and have confirmed the issue!!!!
Whay is vodafone so crap at support???
