Quick question, my daughter has an iPhone SE, which is 11 months old, the home button has stopped working, do we take it to Vodafone or apple for repair under warranty?

Hi @63johnw
Im sure you have but have you tried the reset option of holding the home button and power button together ? Appreciate the issue is with the home button but this can jolt it into working.
The Manufacturing Warranty is applied by the seller of the phone.
In your case @63johnw that would be Vodafone in essence.
However Manufacturers imo and experience are keen to provide support.
So I would take it to an Apple Store as they'll either remedy the issue in house or if this is within the remit of warranty provide a replacement mint refurbished model.
Vodafone would send it off as I'm sure your aware.
Apple pride themselves on Customer Service and Customer Support thus typically bend over backwards to help.

Thanks @BandOfBrothers
Thats my thoughts too. Our plan is to try apple store tomorrow,
Have just checked on apple site and the warranty runs out on 31st May so getting pretty close !
It's the lock button by the way not the home button as I first thought.

Ok.
You'll most likely be greeted by a frontline Apple specialist who check the Genius Bar availability via an iPad they carry.
They'll either come see you straight away and deal with the iPhone or arrange to text you to return if they are booked out.
