Router problem

I have an r216 and am having problems with it as I cannot reset the default password.

Every time I do the router spends 60 seconds going back to the default screen and the password has been reset  to default.

Have maneged to do everything else and change that.

Have hard reset and used app to hard reset still nothing.

Will also not let me try to update firmware just keeps saying not at this time in.

However it still refuses to cooperate, and the firmware says its for r212 is this compatible as i have an r216

I did plug it into my pc and it still will not cooperate.

As for the firmware is that the correct 1 as it says for r212 and my unit is an r216
