Hi there,
I've been with Vodafone (via Carphone Warehouse) for about 6 weeks. I have an issue when I make voice calls in that, more often than not, in under a minute the call becomes garbled - the other person can't hear me, and I can't hear them. Alien-like is how I've seen it described elsewhere.
Now, I've rang Vodafone. Tried removing the SIM and puttiing it back in. Doesn't change a single thing. This problem is driving me insane!
Googling around and come across two others experiencing the same problem:
1: http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Pay-monthly/Problems-with-a-new-S7-Edge/td-p/2555741
Both have exactly the same symptoms. However, both also state 3 other common factors:
1. All using an S7/Edge
2. All updated to Nougat
3. All Nottingham based (as I am)
This can't be a coincidence, surely??? No reports of network issues around Nottingham (it's been happening over 3-4 weeks, maybe ever since I started my contract 6 weeks ago).
I feel like I'm going to be passed back and forth between Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse - has anybody else experienced this type of problem and, if so, was there a fix?
I've done a factory reset to see if that makes any difference (still running Nougat).
Many thanks,
Paul.

There's nothing we can do on our end to amend any bugs in Samsung's software. As advised previously in the thread, Samsung will most likely put a fix in place when the next software update is released.

I have the s7 and have the same problem I took sim out that didn't work then I had a new sim sent that didn't work then took phone to Vodafone shop and swapped for same phone as they thought it was update so had a device with old version but yet what a surprise still doing it.....
I'm in the Nottingham area and been on phone for 3 hours saying ithat must be with the Samsung s7 and s7 edge range but they not having it
Matter of fact there only cure was to sell my contract phone and buy a new one (what a joke)
I'm going to report them to of ofcom as not paying for a broken device
Vodafone is a joke

Good Evening,
I'm having the exact same issue meaning that calling anyone on my phone isn't possible. This only started happening after the latest software update.
I've been to both the vodafone shop and samsung store and i'm just being passed between them as they blame each other. It appears the customised update that Vodafone put out is causing the issue for anyone on these phones. You cannot even roll back the software to when it worked correctly. There were others in both stores with the same issue.
Worst thing now is i can't even speak to customer services on my phone about it. Grr
What on earth are we suspose to do?

Hi to those who've recently "joined us" here... unfortunately, we are still waiting for a fix but we've been told it's escalated to "head office" at Samsung. However, there's no time scale for when it will be looked at/fixed.
So let's keep the pressure on them so they understand the scale of the issue... Please add a comment here (you may need to register with Samsung first, if you haven't already):

Identical issue here. Started maybe 6-weeks back:
Samsung S7 (SM-G930F), plus my partners S7
Vodafone network
NG11 (Home), Work (NG2)
G930FXXU1DQC4/G930FXEU1DQB1/G930FXXU1DQC2
Underwater noise then wind, then disconnected on in/ out calls; and now
Scrambled alien noise/ pitchy re-wind noise, then disconnected on in/ out calls
Carphone Warehouse told me to send it back to Samsung Technical
My handset arrived back from Technical yesterday and no change in the behaviour (the letter says no fault detected)

Good Afternoon Guys,
I have taken to the internet to try to resolve what I can only describe as the most frustrating experiance using a mobile device!
I coincidently also live in the area (NG18) although did get the same interfearance in Italy,
I really hope Samsung get this sorted, i have resorted to using my old S5

There is a Vodafone case reference open which you can also send your examples to. Please see below link: to follow the discussion: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/Smartphones-Tablets-Wearables/S7-call-screeching-sound/m-p/17339...
If experiencing S7 'alien scrambled' noise then call disconnect. Please send examples that are no more than 48-hours old:

Subject: case ref: CS00020410691 - poor call quality
Case Reference: CS00020410691
For our engineers to be able to make progress with this case, we will need at least 2-3 examples of failed calls that should be no more than 48 hours old when you notify us of them. These examples will be used for specific call tracing and we may require additional examples at a later date. Please note: For technical reasons we can only accept examples from Monday to Thursday, any sent outside of this will not be usable
