Hi,
I'm using a Sim free unbranded Samsung Galaxy s7 edge.
My preference when backing up my information / App Data etc is via the phones inbuilt option using my Samsung Account.
For a few days now it's failing showing as a 'Server Error.'
Hopefully if it's a Server Error then this lies with Samsung's end and a bug waiting to be dealt with.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue ? Seems others elsewhere are.
To note I also back up via my Google Account and Dropbox.
It's just annoying when something stops working.
I prefer not to use SmartSwitch to a Computer.
So far I've tried the following troubleshooting.
I'd prefer not to Factory Reset at this stage as others have reported this process hasn't helped.
Samsung U.K. Support suggest using SmartSwitch.

Thank you @63johnw for taking the time to check on your own phone for me. Much appreciated:)
This certainly leads me to believe it being at Samsung's end.

Update.
From Samsung U.K. Support on Twitter.
"Hi. This is an ongoing issue, and we'd recommend that you back up your data using an alternative cloud source, such as Google Drive. You can find instructions on how to back up data here: http://spr.ly/60128zkrC ^RS"

As a matter of interest, does Samsung backup over-ride the one Google does? From what Samsung say, it sounds as though it does. I used to use HTC's service before they discontinued it, but found that the downside was that you can't restore to a different make of device, which of course you can with Google - and it backs up multiple devices. I appreciate that proprietary services probably back up more than Google, but there has to be a trade-off.

Not from my understanding.
From what I read they compliment each other with a little bit of overlap.

A quick way to check is to go into your Google dashboard and check the date of thelatest backup for that device. If Samsung give you Google as well as theirs, that's a definite bonus. HTC didn't.
