Hi,
Using an import brings its own risks.
Often the the warranty is not valid in another country so do check.
Vodafone mostly likely won't be able to guarantee they can support it.
Vodafone uses these frequencies.
Frequencies used on the Vodafone UK network
Frequency Protocol Class
900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE 2G
1800 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE 2G
900 MHz UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+/DC-HSPA+ 3G
2100 MHz UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+/DC-HSPA+ 3G
800 MHz LTE 4G
2600 MHz LTE Advanced
Google for the frequencies that the handset supports.

Are there any Samsung Outlets in your city centre ?
Depending on price buy one from Vodafone or perhaps CPW as sim free / Payg when available. They are typically unlocked.

The Note 5 hasn't been released for the European market and thus will always potentially be an issue - why are you so focussed on that particualr handset?

The fact they called themselves "uk" was enough fire me
Don't be fooled - there are a lot of websites out there that have .co.uk but the companies behind them are based abroad. I almost got caught out a few times myself. When you find a company you want to order through, just Google "Review" and then the website name - that can sometimes bring up different results compared to Googling the company name.

Yeah I think having been stung here I will probably just leave it to see if/when the note % is realeased in the uk. I'm gonna have my hands full getting my cash back from eglobal I think.
I realy wanted the note 5 as it seems to have all the good parts of the s6 etc, in particular the great camera, but in th enote format with stylus etc. Best of both worlds kind of thing.
I'm just looking at a pile of accessories that I bought for the note 5, I might have a look around and see if there are any genuine UK companies who are importing a compatible version and see if they have good reviews, particularly reviews from existing UK vodafone customers who have had success wit thier imports. Failing that I will just have to be patient.
Has it been confirmed then that the note 5 is coming to Europe? When I last checked (ordered the first phone in November) there was no confirmation that it would be.
Thanks once again for all your help and comments.

In January 2016 from what I could find out online.
It is a sexy phone, so I completely understand why you'd want it. What about the S6 Edge Plus as an alternative?

Thanks drey_p,
it's the stylus functions of the Note series that I want really and although the s6 is a great phone, for me personally I think the "edge" factor would be 90% gimmick and 10% function.
That's great it appears to be coming in January though. I'll just have to be patient I suppose. I have emailed eglobal in respect of both orders, to cancel one (as not dispatched yet) and return the other. It will be interesting (and frustratig I expect) to see how long it tales to get my funds back. I might try going down the charge-back route with my bank if they don't get back to me with the response I need. I should fall within a 30 day cooling off period fo rthe phone I received but because it was about 3 weeks late they may try and argue that it has expired.
Lesson learnt though!

For me, the stylus isn't that important, but if it is something that will benefit you, hold off on anything else (you could end up regretting it otherwise)
I have the S6 Edge and I love the Edge screen - it is definitely about the design and look of the device. Functionality wise, it is cool to have and I like having the extra bit of screen I can config.
I really hope that you do get your money back. According to their returns policy, you should be okay:
A request for refund notification is submitted to by ticket and received by us within 30 days upon you receiving of the goods.
So, they say from receipt of goods, I reckon you should be well within that period!

yeah I was just combing through their policy aswell, looks ok. It's just the delay in them dealing with anything that seems to be the problem. My experince might have been worse when waiting for delivery of the first handset due to the xmas period I supose, but they are awful at communicating generally. Still, if the Note 5 isn't released in the uk for another month or so that gives me some time before I'll be needing the £1100 for x2 of the UK version.
At least I will know in future to be more careful with website reviews. Looking at their many good reviews it seems all th egood ones are for smaller accessories and all th ebad ones are for handsets, mainly due to delays in delivery and such like.
Let me just say thanks again to yourself and bandofbrothers for your help on the subject. It wulkd have taken me hours to get to the same conclusino if I was having to look into it on my own.
All the best.
