Not had chance to read the links yet, but the main text looks pretty standard to me. Not really seeing anything to worry about.

at the moment its optional and is only a download

Now i can see this on there own Branded hansets, But the fear is some crazy pen pusher will try and replace the stock messaging app on the firmware they dish out

after all this is Vodafone and they don't listen to there customers

But the snooping on ther numbers is a bit much after all the stock Txt/MMS does not do this

but it does nothing useful that others don't do already and do a better job

Instead of bring out apps that no one wants why not simply give what customers want a simple tick box in the My account section that turns MMS on or off

Quite clearly my issue is the same as many other users.

Can someone please tell me how to sort out this problem then as i cant even figure out how to send a message to get this resolved. i never had a problem then after an upgrade or something i can not receive any MMS at all and neither can my partner. I went into store they dont know how to do it!!! i went on the messaging service but after multiple checks and factory resets etc no difference...... i waited 25 minutes on the phone line but no answer i want this switched back on as this is part of my service to the phone and now i cant see anything. please please can some one tell me how to do this

MMS is not part of your normal contract service which is why you get charged extra for sending MMS.
As standard MMS is turned off by default for new and upgrade accounts. (to avoid unexpected costs)

During the upgrade process it pays to always request mms is enabled just to make sure.

If you ring 191 or use Live Chat on the main Vodafone site, the CS team will be able to reinstate the service for you. Explain you have requested it to be enabled before but it has not been actioned properly.

They need to provision Mms on your account. 😉

Thanks for the  reply however live chat told me they can't do it and 191 told me there were no settings for the mms to be disabled  and advised a factory reset which I did and I can now receive mms pictures but mine go through to others as a link to view online. ..

Glad it's sorted, though the information you were given about provisioning was wrong.  If other people are receiving yours as links, this is probably down their settings.   You could send yourself one as a test, though.

Live chat are wrong, they can enable mms, they can also disable the service too. All Customer Service outlets should have access to the same abilities.

You might want to consider using something like facebook messenger or whatsapp with your friends. Both can send pictures for free...!
