Samsung Galaxy S5 not receiving text messages from non samsung phones.

Hi.

I recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S5 from an S3, for some reason I can't recieve text messages from my friend who has a nokia lumia. 

 

She gets my texts and replies, when I go to my call log it shows that she has replied to my texts but nothing shows up in my inbox and no notification. 

 

Any help would be fantastic.:catsad:

Have you accidentally blocked her by any chance?  The behaviour you describe sounds like you may have.

I spoke to vodafone earlier today and they suggested that but when I checked I hadn't blocked her. I  don't know whats going on and its really fraustrating.

Was the handset supplied by Vodafone themselves or did you get it through a third party?

I got it direct from Vodafone.

Have you ever been able to receive messages from this contact since you got the S5?

Haven't been able to recieve anything from this contact. I can recieve texts from people with Samsung phones but it seems that any non Samsung phones are the ones having problems.

Have you enabled ChatOn?  If so, it may be an idea to disable it by going into Settings > Application manager > all applications > ChatOn clear the cache and data and then select disable.

Is this contact also on Vodafone ?

It may be worth deleting all message history from this person and the contact info in your phone , soft re boot by turning the phone Off and On and re enter the contact but change the name slightly. Sounds weird but I've known it to work.

Has your friend checked their phone fully and her own network if they are not on Vodafone.

It could be the SIM card so sometimes performing a sim swap to replace it can help. Any Vodafone HighStreet store can do this for you. Take Photo ID.
