Hi,
I have the s5, running Lollipop v5.00. Since loading Lollipop I have found, apart from anything else, that my phone NO LONGER rings AND vibrates. I can either have it ring, OR vibrate, but not both. It always USED to ring and vibrate, should I have it set to, prior to Lollipop.
I have spoken, a number of times, with Samsung, and they inform me there were a number of 'bugs' with Lollipop, but these have been 'ironed out' with version 5.01 / 5.02.
Samsung have also informed me (on more than one occasion) that v5.01 / 5.02 HAS been released, about 2 months ago, but it is up to the NETWORKS to release the software to their users. When speaking with Voda, I have been informed that it 'has nothing to do with the networks, it is down to Samsung'.... When challenged, this is normally met with silence, before the line goes dead!
So, Vodafone, WHEN is v5.01 /5.02 going to be released to those of us with the s5????
Thanks
Current/Previous Devices:-Samsung Galaxy s7 Edge (Gold), Samsung Galaxy s5, HTC OneX (W), HTC Desire HD. HTC Desire, N97Mini(died), N97(x3) which finally died, NokiaN82, Nokia 6300, Nokia 6230i, Nokia 6230, Nokia N80, Nokia 6310, Nokia 3650, Nokia+Other Nokias (+ 2 TinCans and a piece of string, but that was AGES ago!!) 🙂
Solved! Go to best answer.

Hi there
The first thing to realise that is Vodafone don't comment on when a firmware update will be available as per the Firmware Statement. However, there was an update that was released in the earlier part of this month, build G900FXXU1BOE2. If you aren't yet running that, it may be an idea to update it via Smart Switch PC (which replaces Kies).
The removal of silent mode was something that Google thought was a great idea for some reason. Really not sure why they got that idea but anyway.
Also, there doesn't seem to be anything other than 5.0 available in the UK, even on unbranded (BTU) handsets which would indicate that Samsung actually haven't rolled it out here.
Just a reminder if you are updating your firmware, please make usre you have everything backed up prior to doing the update. It is also always a good idea to perform a factory reset after an update to get rid of any old bits of coding that could cause issues.

Hi kevinx
Certainly seems like you've met a wall of confusion on this and I trust the excellent advice given by drey_p helps some to clear most of that up.
I can on one hand understand why all the Networks hold back firmware to test it as best as they can for conflicts. Then release it on a staggered rollout typically and I think it's key on how swiftly they do as its natural for people to want the new features and more importantly any update to iron out bugs.
Personally this is one of the reasons I choose as they do not allow the Networks to tinker with their iOS , but to only add what they request to the Carrier File if applicable.
I hope you are able to access the update your needing ASAP.
