Hi, How do I remove the Vodafone logo on the left of my black strip at the top (notifications bar). The option 'show mobile network' which works for other brands is missing on the Ultra 6.
Thanks

This thread has now veered off into the surreal seeing the network's name that's perhaps 1.5mm in height as a danger that clutters up the screen.

You can see from the OP's screenshot that it takes up half the available width of the notification area* and I really don't think most peopl need a permanent notification of the network they're on. The fact that there's a connection (shown by the icons on the right) should be sufficient. If you need to check when roaming, the lockscreen should be enough - though that would perhps only have applied back in the days of "preferred" networks.

Half of the space available for what is my point. What else do you think would or could show there if the tiny word Vodafone isn't there? Nothing else will show there so it'll be an empty space. How is that preferable to seeing the network name over there? and of course you won't see it because within seconds you'll forget it's there. It's all personal preference and my view is no more valid than yours or anyone else's of course but for me this is Everest being made out of the tiniest of tiniest molehills. Hence why it's become a surreal discussion.

All the other notifications indicators, on an Android device. It's not dead space.

Clearly the phone has been designed to have space for all of those notifications and have the name of the network there at the same time.
What normally sits up there? - a battery icon and %, the time, bluetooth and GPS indicators, NFC perhaps, voicemail possibly.
The world's leading smartphone does this perfectly well and I'm sure there are no more Android notifications than iOS is liable to produce.

On mine, with only NFC on top of the fixed hardware stuff on the right, that takes up about a third of the space. You can see from the OP's pic that the network name takes up about half.. That doesn't leave much space for everything else. And I still don't see why you need permanent notification of what network you're on. I think you're likely to know that. Like I said, there was a time when it mattered when you were roaming, but I'm not sure it does now.

That's my space for my notifications. I usually have on the left corner the date in status bar app. That it's separated out from all the other notifications on the right makes it easy to take note of at a glance. Now it's in the middle of my status and I've deleted it and instead insalled an app that does the same thing but on my screen, I put it top left on my screen nearest where the old app was. I would have preferred my original app.
Also I work shifts so I have other apps that track/update/notify me of my schedule, so I have quite a few notifications up there.
TV analogy doesn't work because it's not on usable space.
Just because you're happy with it Jeff doesn't mean I have to be, people have different opinions and it doesn't mean someone is wrong. I do like a clean as possible phone and that alone is a good enough reason not to like it and want it removed.
3 - Getting there 🙂
Annie - There's enough choice out there I think you should be able to get what you want without the logo.

I'm sorry - but am I missing something here?
The OP was talking about the name of the network which I believe appears in the top line of every phone I can remember seeing. It's there on an iPhone and on Android phones along with the signal strength bars and battery level etc.
What is new about this and what do different sims have to do with it?
What are the unknowns that are being referred to?

It would appear that it's me missing something - the name of the network, which I truly don't believe I've ever seen in the top line of a phone. Since I mentioned 5 phones, I've upped the tally to 6, on none of which do I see Vodafone UK, or any other indication of carrier on the top line. All my phones look like this, since I've now accepted the OfficeSuite update which was causing the logo to appear, as shown in post #8 above:
I had attempted to list what I regard as the unknowns, or at any rate uncertains, in post #13; but they may all be totally irrelevant to anything, if the norm is for the network to show. The OP had mentioned a brand new SIM as a possible explanation, but I suspect we'll never know - I just count myself lucky that, so far at any rate, I have an uncluttered lhs of the notification bar.
