U opened up a direct debit without my permission

-Told on phone it was just for a credit check and bingo u set up a dd!

When I need a new smaller sim u told me it was free and would arrive via currier.

-U put it in the post & charged me £2.50.

Hello @Paul42

Being caught up in any form of fraud is awful and I feel for you.

How do you know the email you received from the Debt Collection Agency isn't real may I ask ?

The Code is normally sent to the Account holders mobile number but can also be sent to another nominated contact number too. I.e a Landline Number.

It's imperative that you either call 191 or use Live Chat to speak with Customer services to get this possible fraud investigated.

They'll check to where the security access code is being sent to also.

Vodafone can charge a admin/postage fee to send out a requested SIM card.

If you feel this shouldn't have been made then when you speak with Customer services talk to them about it and if they agree they'll reimburse the cost back to your account.

@Paul42 I've sent you a private message with details on how to get in touch.

Respond to the private message Alex has sent you.   There's a dedicated fraud team who'll get to the bottom of this.

Meanwhile, check any other online accounts you have in case they've been compromised too.  If someone has set up an account in your name, they may have obtained personal information that you need to protect.

@Paul42

Further to your new post, when you submitted the form in response to Alex's PM, did you receive an acknowledgement email with a reference like#15123456, or just an onscreen confirmation?

If you got a reference number, please post it here so that the forum team can locate it. Otherwise you'll need to resubmit the form, so that they can assist you.

Hi @Paul42

We have a small Vodafone Tech Team here who read all posts and engage where appropriate.

This does take a little time to do so please be patient.

Did you recieve any reference number so that your request can be located.

Please be patient and I'm sure they'll engage with you asap.

Have interacted with the social media team but it was a fail.

Only sort of answered one question and ignored the rest.

Also despite the fact they know I am unwell they want to converse via phone not email, which is no good at all for me.

There was a good team here once, is it still here or is it all down the tubes?

Is anybody out there???

The team is still here and is still good but Vodafone doesn't use email to communciate with customers which is why they can't offer you that option.

If you are unable to speak on the phone you will need to use Live Chat to speak to customer services.
