Speed drop and lost connection: PADI sent

Connection used to be fine but recently the speeds displayed by the router on the opening page when logging in (to 192.168.1.1) have dropped from over 70 to 62 and the upload speed from 19 to 15. This is combined with another symptom with a couple of disconnects an hour during peak times for 1-3 min. The log displays a continuous "PPPoE PADI sent" until it connects again. I don't know if this is related to a change in power levels on the line.

Currently:

SNR Margin6.4 dB6.3 dB
Loop Attenuation16.4 dB21.9 dB

I have tried to call customer service but not getting anywhere. If this contihnues I shall be leaving Vodafone as soon as my contract is up!
