Sure Signal 1 s/w upgrade

Hello;

I don't known if this is true ('cause i was told it by vodafone) but after having my sure signal 1 box out of service for 7 out of 8 weeks they seem to be admitting that there are network problems with this type of unit. I have been assured (  oh how I laughed) that they are doing a s/w upgrade on it tonight. This apparently is affecting all sure signal 1 users.

Can someone from vodafone please confirm that this is true, or is it just another blag by tech support to get you off the phone?

Cheers

Ps i have told customer support that I am now charging them £25 an hour for any further calls I make as this has gone on far far far to long.

All,

Complained to customer services about the lenght of time to get this problem resolved. Got £40 compo. Worth complaining as they may take VSS problems seriously if there is a finacial penalty.

All,

I have just spoken to 2nd line support and the firmware update that seems to have resolved my problem is

BSR-02.04.56.62

Worth knowning if you want to ask for a firmware update directly with phone support

Hi Easegill,

Glad to see it's worked for you. :smileyhappy:

I'm also glad you got the firmware version when you called. We don't have that to hand - we were just advised that there was an update.

Moving the Sure Signal won't affect the update at all - it's installed now. If you move it between addresses rather than rooms, though, you may need to update the registered postcode.

Hi Tech team, I am having the same problem with my sure signal v1

i have done the reset / power off / on + reset sequence many times without any luck.

I have been onto phone support twice and they said they would update the firmware, that was 3 days ago, and there is no change. I get the top 2 lights on, then the 4th light flashes, then after a min all the lights go out. Then it cycles through again.

Can you check my firmware and update if required. seems i need BSR-02.04.56.62

This has not worked now for 3 weeks. I need to work from home next week and really need this working.

Hi dino1300,

The Sure Signal is running the latest firmware.

Are you still seeing the same light sequence repeating?

If yes, it sounds like it’s constantly resetting itself.

If this is the case then it would point towards a faulty Sure Signal.

If it’s faulty, the next step is an out of warranty repair for £65 or you can also buy a new unit for £100.

James,

Nope doesn't appear to be working. not sure how I'm suppose to tell if the "update went through". Light 3 still out.

One fly in the ointment today is that I spilt wine in my BB last nite (I'm an idiot), but have put the SIMM in an old BB that has worked with this VSS box before and I'm not getting any GSM/GPRS signal in the house; fine two hundred yards up the hill picking up mast signal.

Grateful for further advice. Have you looked at the log for this fault?
