Hi
I recently got and registered a SS2 as I have really bad coverage in my area lately. The device was second hand but all seems ok, it registered fine and once it had established its connection it now has a full signal bar showing on the front of the unit BUT I have no better coverage on the regsitered mobile.
I can find no user manual on the device anywhere on the web. I have places the SS IP it was DHCP allocated in the DMZ of my router so I am sure its not a port issue. Is there any way to tets this device enternally?
I have a static IP router at home for work purposes, some IP's are fixed ten there is a pool ffor DHCP, ideally I would like to static the SS2 when and if it works so it can stay in the DMZ (or at least I can open up the ports it needs for just its IP)
All help and ideas apprecited

Hi Kay

Hi gemma
All I have is the red power light and the signal strength light (I think thats it, its the one with increasing bars and the circle over the top of it) I have full bars on that
But on the (removed for security) i-phone right by the SS2 unit I have no signal at all, that is the one registered to the SS2 as the administrator, its my phone

Hi ssizen
How many phone are connected to the Sure Signal? Are others picking up signal OK?
I've given the Sure Signal a re sync, can you perform a factory reset and let me know if that makes any difference?
VSS Factory Reset
* Hold the reset button till all the lights come on or flash (about 30 seconds)
* Keeping the rest button held, remove and re-insert the power lead
* Once all the lights come on or flash, release the reset button
* The VSS should come online within the hour
Thanks
Sukhi

Hi
It was just mine but I have now added (removed for security)
I will do a factory reset now and see if either phone then gets a 3G signal or not

Hi
GREAT that fixed it, the other phone it not yet picking up but does that need time to register?
Also is there a way of defining it a static IP? I have a fixed IP's (with static and a DHCP Pool) at home due to business and if we use DHCP and reboot the router it may get another IP which means I will have to change the DMZ settings on the router each time.
I was going to have to move away form Vodafone due to bad signal but looks like I can now stay!!

Hi Shaun,
That's great to see!
While it's not essential to assign a static IP, it will save the Sure Signal having to set up from fresh every time it's assigned a new one.
Who manages your internet connection? They can usually set up the static IP for you if you're unsure how to do this with your router settings.
