Sure Signal Not Working

Hi,

Sure Signal V1 not working since return from a week away.

Router (Netgear DG834N) has been tested and reset to factory conditions - all OK.

Full reset of Sure Signal and Vodafone resync did not fix problem.

Sure Signal goes through correct start process (lights) but returns to power light on and steady after 2 - 3 hours.

Ethernet lights are good.

Sure Signal S/N is 21224339248.

I see several users have had similar trouble recently, some have been resolved with an upgrade.

Any help gratefully received!

OK - if neither Vodafone or my ISP have made any changes, can someone tell me why my Sure Signal now requires Port Forwarding?

My MTU is 1458 on my router, I lose the internet connection if I set it to 1500.

Hi fuser,

This needs to be set at 1500.

When you change this and you lose the internet, is this for a short period of time or permanently?

Make sure you complete the full process as follows:

  • Log into your router admin page and find the location of the MTU field. This varies depending on the make and model so you’ll need to look for it.
  • Change the value of the MTU size to 1500.
  • Log out of the router, this will usually result in a reboot.

You then need to perform a reset of the Sure Signal:

  1. Hold in the reset button until all lights go solid
  2. Pull the power lead out with the reset button still pushed in
  3. Continue to hold down the reset button and reconnect the power lead
  4. Wait for all lights to come on and then release the reset button
  5. The Sure Signal will now try to contact the network and download its profile. This can take up to 6 hours.

Thanks,

Jenny
