Sure Signal Problem

I have had the sure signal since Dec '11 and when I first set it up it was working fine, never cut out and was great due to having little/no signal in the area I live.

However, since a few months ago, when I moved the signal box around a metre in distance to a different table out of reach of my toddler, it has been getting worse and worse for cutting out. This wasn't so bad, as generally, if switched the ss box off then back on you would have phone signal again within 5 mins or so. I did get a message off vodafone saying something like 'We notice your sure signal has been moved, please register the new postcode incase emergency services need to find you' or something along those lines, so I just re-entered the same postcode as its still at the same address and still in the same room. But the last 2 days it has not worked at all. There are no lights on on the unit, and I have tried turning off, resetting etc but this isn't changing anything?

Any suggestions as for what to do next as i'm getting sick off this unit getting worse, especially now I have had no signal for the last 2 days!!! HELP! :smileyfrustrated:

Thanks, Carla.

Hi there

You usually only get the message about a post code change if your IP address has changed.  Your IP address can change if you connection with your broadband provider disconnects and reconnects.  Are you getting decent speed on your broadband?  That can cause all sorts of issues.  I would recommend that you follow the SureSignal Troubleshooting Guide and see if that resolves your issues.

Thanks for your help, just been messing around with it and finally got some lights to come on, currently both signal and phone lights are flashing, so will wait and see!

Shouldnt be a problem with internet speed as we are not far from the BT Exchange box?

Could it be a problem if the router and the ss box were too close to eachother?

Thanks, Carla.

Hi Carla,

To be honest this can sometimes cause an issue however, it was more prominent with the original Sure Signal version.
