Hello everyone.
Happy New Year to you all and thank you for reading this post.
Having had a Vodafone Sure Signal (VSS) for around 6 months, I finally got round to installing it in my business. Having been online and registered it, input phone numbers and done that bit, I plugged it into my network and wall point and waited. I left it over night and checked it again in the morning and nothing had changed.
Having read a bit online, a number of people where having issues with setting this devide up on a network that does not use DHCP on a router. As we have a company network in place, our DHCP comes from our server. This is a Windows 2012 server running DHCP and DNS. Our PC's and Wi-Fi devices have no issues running but for some reason this VSS does not get an IP.
Having checked the DHCP server IP address table, it does not seem to have issued an IP address to the VSS as I can't see the MAC address in here. I have now added in a reservation for my VSS using the MAC so it should get the IP I gave it. But still no joy, I can't seem to ping the device at all.
The router being used is a Draytek 2860 and had many features. I'm checking it over and can't see anything wrong this end. I have added what I think are the right ports to unblock but if someone could confirm this.
If a person from Vodafone replies, please don't pass me onto your help pages as this did not seem to help me. Many people that have the VSS installed tend to be home users, but remember alot of compaines also use them and require a higher level to tech help.
I would really vaule any input into this matter as it seems I have now drawn a blank.
Thank you in advance.
