Good Morning,

My sure signal stopped working a few months ago. As we were working away from home this  was not a big issue, now we are home again I need to get this working. I have been through all of the trouble shooting guides and tried several resets. Nothing in the set-up has changed at this end. All details below.

ISP - Sky

D-Link Router

VSS Serial Number - 21231543857

IP-Address - 90.201.44.206

Speedtest

Ping 80ms

Download 3.33 Mbps

Upload 0.67 Mbps

Hi there paul_bright,

Thanks for posting.

Can you tell me which lights are on or off and whether they're steady or flashing please?

Everything looks fine at this end but I can see the last connection to our network was in February so I've forced a resync for you. Please factory reset the VSS and let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,

LeeH

Thanks for the reply,

When I power it up the power light comes up, around 20 seconds later all lights flash once but after that all four lights go out and remain out. When I try the factory reset none of the lights come on after 30 seconds as stated in your guide. I have followed it anyway and it is back to no lights on.

Regards

Hi paul_bright,

Can you try the Sure Signal at a different location for me? We need to rule out a fault with the Sure Signal as it still hasn't updated since February.

Let me know how you get on.

Kay

Hi

I've tried the VSS at my brothers and it behaves the same as at my house. Power light comes on for a while then all lights go out and stay out. The hard reset follows the same pattern as at home.

Please advise.

Regards

Paul

Hi paul_bright,

Thanks for getting back to us.

As the power light goes out it would suggest that either the power cable is faulty or the box is faulty.

As this is now out of warranty it would mean that a repair would cost £65 or you would need to buy a new box for £100.

Hi James,

If its faulty I'm happy to get a new one but my concern is that I buy a new one and that doesn't work. Can I send this for you to confirm its in need of repair and then either have it repaired or purchase the latest model?

Regards

Paul

Hi paul_bright

We can send it away to check for you but there would be a £65 charge. If you purchase a new one and it still doesn't work, you do have seven days to return it so technically you wouldn't be out of pocket if you bought one, it didn't work and you returned it within 7 days.

Thanks

Simon

Paul, try my reset method :

I won't charge you £65 if it doesn't work...
