VSS3 flashing red power light, internet light off, other 2 lights solid orange.
Has not worked for several months.
Have tried reseting it. De-register and re-registering. Different ethernet cable, different router port. Router shows it is connected to it and has been assigned an IP via DHCP.
Speed test results:
Ping 5ms
Down 48.24Mbps
Up 7.19Mbps

@bwakem – Welcome to our eForum.
Since you’ve re-registered your Sure Signal on 11 September, it hasn’t made contact with our network.
Please check your ports are opened as follows:
IP addresses to be allowed on the router & firewall
Once the above steps have been followed please perform a reset:
Allow around one hour for the Sure Signal to come back online.
If it's still the same after this, please test it at a different location.

Hi Gemma,
All ports are open and all IPs are allowed. I am not able to test it at another location at the moment.
It has not worked since I moved to BT Infinity. From reading lots of posts I have noticed the that the SS has trouble working on PPPoE systems like BT Infinity. I have tried 2 different routers but it has not worked with either.
I have a 2 questions.
1) Since the SS has not connected for months could it have been blacklisted somehow? Does it need reseting at your end?
2) The fault it seems is almost certainly the SS sending packets that are larger than the PPPoE spec and that cannot be fragmented. Vodafone have known about this issue for at least 4yrs from what I've read, do you ever plan to fix the problem or even acknowledge that there is one?
See jimfew's post at http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Vodafone-Sure-Signal/BT-Infinity-and-Sure-Signal/td-p/1039993/page/4 for more info on SS illegal packet sizes. In fact read the whole thread for lots more info.
Thanks,
Brian

Rather bizarrely my SS suddenly started working today after not working for several months. I haven't touched it either. Maybe somebody from vodaphone actaully read my post and did something about it.

I’m glad to see that things are up and running now.
Have you tried a different Ethernet cable?
Can you take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?

I have tried another cable yes. I was under the impression my router would see the VSS. Once it was plugged in. Is it normal not to see it?.
