I have had this sure signal for over a week but can not get past this error. The serial number is 40133828778.
I have run the tests results below.

Hi
Sorry to jump into this thread but Im having a similar issue with a SureSignal I bought yesterday.
I bought the device from a VF shop, but as my phone is on a corporate contract VF Customer Services wont even speak to me - not particularly helpful.
Ive opened specific ports on my router (although cant understand why this should be needed to be done manually) and its been turned on over night. Still just got a sold red power light and a slow flashing "connecting" light.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Tim

Ive setup all the port forwarding (although how you could expect someone non-it literate to do that Ive no idea!) and I still get solid power light and slow flashing (white) internet light. The fact it needs pptp is also frustrating as I used 1723 udp for pptp onto a different server.
Thanks

Hi TimSmith,
Thanks for your quick reply.
The light sequence shows that it's downloading a profile as part of the set up process. This can take up to six hours to complete.
During this time, don't reset or unplug the Sure Signal as it'll cause the Sure Signal to restart the process.
If after six hours you're seeing the same lights, check to make sure you've got the following ports open and forwarded:
Port Number
8 TCP UDP
50 TCP UDP
53 TCP UDP
67 UDP
68 UDP
123 UDP
500 UDP
1723 TCP UDP
4500 UDP
33434 - 33445 UDP
Another thing to try is a different Ethernet cable between the Sure Signal and your router.
Thanks.
Ian

Thanks Ian,
Its been the same since last night - although I didnt have hte ports forwarded then and I have rebooted it since.
Why dont the instructions mention the need to forward ports? They make it sound like its plug and play?
Ill leave it going

Hi
Ive now given up with this device - it is by far the biggest bit of "tech" rubbish that I have ever bought.
After 48hrs (and putting it into my DMZ) it finally sprung to life for all of a few hours. After that, and even when the phone is right next to it, the phone was using the "real" network and not the device.
Coupled with Vodafones standard response of "we won't help you, your phone is with a service provider" and the service providers response of "you didnt buy the device from us" - I give up and will not be recommending Vodafone to anyone I know - in fact actively the opposite.
The device was sold to me (personally) and with no questions about my phone or its contract. Having taken my money, Vodafone are happy to refuse to help despite their obligations under the sales of good acts. Well now you can simply refund....

Hi Tim,
I'm sorry to see this. While the device is plug and play, we can't guarantee compatibility with the tens of thousands of routers and internet setups. This is also why port forwarding is sometimes advised, depending on your ISP and hardware.
Your Sure Signal comes with a 14 day return period should you find it doesn't meet your needs.
Many thanks, Ben
