Solution

Sure Signal V3 solid red light, slow flashing internet light

Greenie

Just Upgraded to Fibre with Talk Talk and now have an OpenReach HG602 fibre terminal and a Talk Talk  HG533 router with excellent speeds but the SureSignal has not re-logged onto the Vodafone VAP

Have tried un registering the unit and re-registering on the Web Site - No change in Red and Internet Flashing Light!

Have tried the factory reset - strange results - holding in reset by Ethernet sockets does not turn on or off any of the status lights but the Ethernet port lights go out and come back on again.   Releasing the reset button turns off the red light - It then stays off until you press the reset button again!

Hi Greenie,

If you are still seeing a solid power light and pulsing (white) internet light, it suggests that the Sure Signal is still configuring.

I can see that it connected to the server late last night so it should now be working.

Is this the case?

If not, what light sequence are you now seeing?

James

Hi James

It was showing a red flashing light and orange flashing light in the morning. Unplugged and re-plugged but still no joy. Phoned technical support and they set up a re-synch. Came home and the v3 still had red flashing and orange lights. Unplugged and plugged back in. Now it's working!! Thank you. It would be good if we could initiate they're-synch ourselves from the manage my SureSignal. Can you think about adding that to the user options please?

Thanks again.

Greeniie

Bad news ...

The set up has not held up.  The SureSignal has gone back to solid Red and Flashing Internet White light.

Hi Greenie,

I've done a resync for you so please do another reset;

-Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports.

-Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds.

-Once the lights come back on, release the button.

Just to let you know you can do this yourself from the Sure Signal dashboard in My Vodafone.

Let us know how you get on,

Kay

It did not work!!!  I am really having problems with my SureSignal it will not synch up over the internet - Perhaps the unit is faulty as it did work originally when I was on copper broad band but has been working inconsistently . I am now on Fibre and since the upgrade it has not worked. The version 3 that I have does not reset the way that the help info says - it never seems to do a factory reset. HELP!!!  Also the self synch option doesnt exist on my Account  see the attachments.   Please can you put that option up on the system

Got Tech Services at VF to re-synch.

I have an HG533 Talk Talk router and I think I haved solved it by configuring the ports UDP/TCPIP 8,50,123,500,1723,4500

If you log into the HG533 and look at basic, LAN and look at the ethernet Tab it shows all connected devices.

Look for the Sure signal MAC address - mine is B046FCA00CED and check the IP address - mine was 192.168.1.9

HG533 PORT FORWARDING

Ensure you have no other routers connected. Would be worth a assigning a static Ip address to the device and also checking what port number the device is listening for.

Open a new web browser window and go to http://192.168.1.1

Username: admin, password: admin

Click ok, click on Advanced, click ok, click on Advanced

Click on Nat, then port mapping

You can either chose Customization to configure this yourself or use the preset options from Application.

You will need to ensure the appropriate interface is interface is selected such as Nas0_38

Protocol: You can select the appropriate protocol you require

Remote host: (can be left blank)

External start port, this is the start port number for the range that you want to use such as 8080

External end port, this is the end port number for the range you want to use, such as 8080

Internal host, this is the IP address of the device you are forwarding the port to, would be worth making sure the device has a static IP address.

Internal port, this is port number the device is listening for such as port 8080

Mapping name, this is what you wish to name the port forwarding.

Press submit.

The Table beloe lists the ones I set up.  Beware that as the SureSignal does not have a static IP address, you may need to re-do the mapping if the router is re-set and the SureSignal adopts a different IP address!!

\I'll report back in a few days!
