Sure Signal v1 randomly stopped working

Hi

Both a relative of mine and now myself have had exactly the same issues with the Sure signal v1

They both stopped working as if over night, no reason.

Mine has been repeatably going through the same light sequence for weeks with no change,

1 goes solid, 2  flashes then goes solid, 4 flashes, goes off then almost a reset flash of all lights then repeats, sometimes it has a rest for a while then off it goes again.

I have so far (just to double check because it WAS FINE)

Re set and de/registered

Checked contact with router, that's ok

Tried another person Internet

Even opened all the ports (probably too many) as per below

Ports and Protocols:

  • 8 – TCP/UDP                 (All routers)
  • 50 – TCP/UDP               (All routers)
  • 53 – TCP/UDP               (Virgin Super Hubs)
  • 67 – UDP                      (Virgin Super Hubs)
  • 68 – UDP                      (Virgin Super Hubs)
  • 123 – UDP                    (All routers)
  • 500 – UDP                    (All routers)
  • 1723 – TCP/UDP           (BT Home Hubs)
  • 4500 – UDP                   (All routers)
  • 33434 – 33445 – UDP    (Virgin Super Hubs)

These have made no difference.

This is really driving me mad because i cannot use my mobile at home at all (no signal)

We suspect it is vodafone way of getting you to buy a new version, or a way of moving to another company who can give me a mobile signal.

ISP: BT

Router: HHub4

Runnig on IP 192.168.1.66

Serial No. 21222425577

Help would be appreciated

Thanks

Kev.

Hi @Kwaltz

I can see that the Vodafone Sure Signal has made a connection to the network on 4 December at 3.23 am.

Are you still experiencing the same issues?

With the IP address that you’ve given is this a static IP?

Please ensure that the IPSEC setting has also been selected on your router settings.

Cheers,

Laura

Hi

I have had the same problem... 2 days ago my sure signal just stopped working.

It has been working for a number of years.. And now just suddenly stopped working

I have rang Vodafone and they said my sure signal had noticed a change in location? This has not changed it has been in the same place all the time I've had it..

I know in the past a hard reset at the Vodafone end has sorted this.. Hopefully you can do this and it will work again..

The serial number is.. 21223484482
Currently had a solid 4 lights on the sure signal.. Occasionally the sure signal reset itself.. Then goes back to 4 lights working..

Thanks

Darren

Please check out my reply to landshark2007.......post 3# http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Vodafone-Sure-Signal/VSS1-in-constant-loop/td-p/2335822

I think this could be your problem as well!

Good luck.

Mike.

Hi laura.

Thanks for your reply.

Same problems as for the last few months.

I believe the IP is staic yes.

What is IPSEC please?

Again none of these settings were touched with a bt home hub 1,2 or for a long time on my hub 4. They all plug and played and was totally fine until last few months.

Hi @Kwatlz,

Exactly the same symptoms as mine...  If you get anywhere with it please let me know how...

(EE looking better by the moment)

cheers

Simon

Hi @Kwaltz

The IPSEC is a setting on the router that is this is not selected it’ll not allow the Vodafone Sure Signal to work.

I have checked the IP address and this is not white listed.

I’ve sent off the request for this to be added to the whitelist.

@Manofpies – I’ve replied to you on your original thread.

Cheers,

Laura

@kwaltz - I've fixed mine by Using a different power supply - as soon as that was replaced it worked again.

@Laura, I'll have to look in to this IPSEC.

What is white listed?

As Manofpies has asked in his thread what does this light pattern he was getting an i still am actually signify?

@Manofpies

Hi, intresting, anything is worth a go. Well done on the power supply!!!

Hi @Kwaltz

Further to this, we've noticed that you've provided the private IP address.

So we can help further, can you provide us with the public IP address?

To find this, go to Google and type in IP address and click search.

Cheers,

Laura
