Sure signal de-registering

I have just bought a sure signal v2 on eBay but the seller is refusing to contact Vodafone to de-register their existing number and doesn't have their online account details either. Am I able to do this on their behalf or have I just bought something which I won't be able to use?

Hi there

You'd need to get the original seller to contact Vodafone as they would need to provide their account information.  If they aren't prepared to do this, then you won't be able to get Vodafone to help you as they need the original account info.

Did the eBay advert disclose the fact that it was still registered to a Vodafone account?  If not, you may have a case to set up a dispute and to return the goods to the seller as "item not as described" and get a refund.

It was advertised as being registered but I was hoping to get the seller to call Vodafone to de-register it. Shouldn't be a hard task but now they are refusing to call up stating they don't have time and it will cost them money to call! I haven't paid for it yet so unless I convince them to shake a leg then I'll just tell them to relist.

I personally think the seller is being a bit unfair as the only person who can have it deregistered is them!  If you can convince them to post on here, one of the eForum Team will be able to assist.  If not, I would advise you steer well clear of that item or you'll end up with a fancy paper weight!

Exactly! They've listed an item with zero use unless they pull their finger out. I don't buy their excuse that they are too busy and can't be bothered with the hassle of calling up. Must be something dodgy about the box.
