Swapping Number To New Sim - Frustration.

Hi,

Long story short (as it can be): -

My phone was broken, it used a "Standard" size SIM card.

I bought a new phone that uses a "Micro" size SIM card.

I eventually managed to order a blank Micro SIM card via Webchat on the Vodafone website.

When it arrived I entered my details here - https://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/forms/sim-swap/index.htm.

I waited 24 hours, nothing happened - my number was not transferred to the new SIM (yes the new SIM is in the phone, I've powered it on and off multiple times etc. etc.).

I have since used Webchat 4/5 times (lost count) to try to get this issue resolved - it has not been. As far as I can tell all that the people on the other end of the chat are doing is exactly what I did in the first place.

Visting a Vodafone store is not convenient at the moment.

Is there any other way I can get this issue resolved? It's been going on for over a week now.

Thanks.

Hi

Can you check if service has stopped on your original dim which indicatesthat the swap has begun.

Tbh going to a store is the best way to get a dim swap sorted.

Is it definitely a blank dim card.

Hi,

I can't check if the original SIM has stopped working. It is a Standard size one and the phone it was in is broken. I don't have another phone that accepts the Standard size SIM cards.

The Mico SIM was sent from Vodafone and the invoice stated that it was Blank.

Hi @TheBovine

If you have the SIM in the phone, try doing a network search by going into the network settings - mobile networks and choose an alternative network, wait for it to kick you out and back onto Vodafone UK.   This will update the SIM on the network.  If the swap has been done, you should have a connection.

There is no reason for live chat to be unable to give an update on your SIM swap. Hopefully, this will be solved but if you are still unable to get the new SIM active, the Team here will be able to help.
