Dear Sir/Madam,
So here is what happened:
*Bill ends at 19th October
1st October (Sunday) - Bought Extra 15GB Data for 20 pounds
2nd October (Monday) - Afraid that I would forget to switch it off as it would carry on charging to the next bill if not switched off, thus I switched off the 15GB Data from MyVodafone online.
3rd October (Tuesday) - Checked my usage on MyVodafone online, realised that my 15GB has totally been wiped off
Firstly, I would want to ask does that literally means that since I have opt out in the same month I opt in, even though i have unused data and there is around 2 more weeks till my bill ends, the extra 15GB data is all gone? I have done some research online and found out that someone has asked the same question but vodafone has replied him that he would still have access to the extra data he bought even if he opt out in the same month he opt in, its just that he will not have extra data and will not get charged in the next bill. However, I have called the customer service hotline, and they have told me that all my extra data has been wiped off just because I opt out. Therefore, all I want to ask is that do I still have access to my extra data usage? Thank you.
Best Regards,
Edward Lam

I personally regard the situation as ludicrous, but, if you opt out of a Pay Monthly Extra, it ceases immediately. See Item 4 of the PayM Extras Ts&Cs - the second part of the page. Item 5 explains that any unused Extra allowance won’t carry over when your billing month ends. The trick, as I understand it, is to leave a small portion of your main allowance untouched, then to opt out of the Extra during the final day of the old billing month.
This is in stark contrast with the PAYG Extras, which will also renew automatically unless you opt out, but which continue to run for the full 30 days even if you opt out mid-cycle, unless of course you exhaust the allowance before the 30 days are up. Could the case which you found in your search have related to PAYG? The advice given is correct for PAYG, but definitely incorrect for PayM.

Vodafone used to allow you to cancel Packs mid cycle, and refund prorated amount of the pack.
Seems, people ended up using the data and then cancelling and getting prorated amount back.
Therefore Vodafone changed it to current process of removing the pack, not prorating the refund and also removing remaining data related to the pack.
If you do sign up for a Pack, then remember to remove it before the Billing Cycle or when you have finished using the pack.
