Top up and Go password prolem

I have been using a Vodafone Top up and Go broadband dongle successfully for about a year with a netbook running Ubuntu. Out of the blue, I was prompted to enter a password when I tried to connect. This has never happened before. The message is HAUWEI technology HAUWEI mobile generated. I have no idea how this happened. I have tried a few passwords but to no effect. Any ideas?

To be honest, the only password it may ask for would be the APN password, I would try and enter WEB

If you can give this a go and let us know how you get on, although it is strange that this is happening.
