I have rebooted the laptop and the phone. I have re installed the vodafone software and I cannot connect.
The software says there is an update available but it does not download and I can find nothing on the vf website.
any ideas?

I'm having a similar problem. I downloaded the software from the phone to my PC and everything was working fine, until a few weeks ago. When I connect the phone now however, it sometimes brings up the initial screen asking if I want the PC Assistant, File Transfer etc but not always. If I click on the desktop Icon it opens the Vodafone initial window then freezes. Task Manager shows fSplash is not responding?
Can I download another version of VF Pc Assistant, if so from where, as the link in the message above seems to refer to modems/dongles etc.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

It is found in COM4 port (cable / 19200 speed)
The the icon at the bottom left of the PC assistant screen goes continously:
Trying to connect => connecting => and then straight to not connected => trying to connect etc...
Can you please advise how to have the phone connected?
I am using Windows XP SP3 home edition
Thanks

It should be as simple as Plug and Play, so I'm not sure why this isn't working for you

If you have any anti-virus or firewall software, we suggest you disable these before trying to connect the device. It will also help us to troubleshoot your issue if you could try a different USB port, and where possible, a different PC.
Let us know how you get on.
