We’ve created this thread to help with online problems that may occur when registering, or managing your Sure Signal.
You need an online account so you can register and manage your Sure Signal.
You’ll receive a text as part of the registration process, which contains a security code. This code is only valid for 20 minutes.
We understand that if you own a Sure Signal, you’ll most likely have little or no coverage, so we recommend you register online when you know you’ll be able to receive the text.
Business customers:
If you’re a business customer you can’t register this via My Account and you need to visit Sure Signal for business. Just click ‘Register a Sure Signal’ and enter your company name as the owner and your mobile number as the administrator - this way you can still make any changes needed.
Consumer customers:
You’ll receive a text or email to confirm that the Sure Signal is fully registered.
Please note that problems can occur, if the number that’s registered as the Owner of the Sure Signal, is different than the main number registered for online billing.
Check for planned maintenance:
Check the forum for any planned maintenance. If there is, this will be announced at the top of the Sure Signal forum.
Planned maintenance can involve changes to the registration system, so wait for this to complete and then retry.
Pending active:
If your online account shows the Sure Signal as ‘Pending Active’, then post in this thread and we’ll look into it further.
All other issues:
If you have any other problems with your Sure Signal registration or management, just post the details below. We’ll need the following:
Thanks,
Jenny

I am registered as administrator with my main handset but these details are not visible under "Manage Users."
The other handset registed to me is the only user visible.
After nearly an hour on the phone to the overseas call centre trying to make the operator understand the initial issues I had with the SS box, he told me that this particular error would be corrected after a couple of hours.
Well, surprise surprise, still no dice.
Can a forum techie offer a better suggestion?

We are unable to add or delete users from our suresignal because the mobile number that was used to set it up is no longer available. Is it possible to get it transferred to another login so that we can manage it?

Hi itscafod
Thanks for post. We'll need to de-register the Sure Signal first from the number that owned the device. Can you confirm that the owner of the Sure Signal is also the owner of both numbers? If not, we'll require the permission of the previous owner to de-register the device before re-registering it on an alternative login.
We'll require access to the account to de-register the device so I've sent a private message with details of how to contact us directly. Please include the sure Signal serial number in your response. You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.
Hi langtonstudios
I've also sent a PM across to you. We'll need to speak to your friend so if you could pass the details on to him of how to contact us directly we'll be in touch.
Thanks
Simon

Can't register my box because your website blows up, I have tried 3 different browsers, from 3 different locations, so its not me.Box is not good to me if I can't register it! It has been over several days now...
FIX YOUR WEBSITE!!!!!!!!
Error invoking portlet "VAPGatewayController"

What he said ^^^^^^^^
Your website has playing up for months and my Sure Signal has only fired into life once in 2 months thanks to the enormous VodaFone "own goal" of fiddling with software upgrades for Sure Signal. It all started when VodaFone started texting me that I had moved - I have not moved and have lived in the same house for 5 years!!!!
Sort it out VodaFone!!! :smileymad:

Hi.
I have been having problems over the past week getting a 3G signal on any device in my home from my SureSignal. It has been working seemlessly for the past 18 months but 2 weeks ago it stopped working. All the lights on it are correctly lit and looking at the logs in my Cisco router, I can see the IPSec connection going out the the VF servers.
I de-registered my VSS to see if I could jump start it into life by re-registering it again however, I can't re-register it due to a fault on your website. I receive this error:
Error invoking portlet "VAPGatewayController"
The source of this error is:
com.bea.wsrp.faults.v1.OperationFailedExceptionImpl: Internal Server Error: null; nested exception is:
javax.servlet.ServletException.; nested exception is:
com.bea.wsrp.faults.v1.OperationFailedExceptionImpl: null; nested exception is:
javax.servlet.ServletException
There is a full page of this text, please let me know if you require the entire page output.
I have tried to re-register my device from 3 locations with 3 different browsers in each location and the fault is the same on all.
I will reply to this thread with my VSS Serial number and MAC Address when I have the information to hand.
Thanks,
Rick

I have exactly the same problem. I am new to Vodafone- having received my SIM yesterday. The website seems very unreliable generally as it took me two days to attempt to register due to apparent site maintenance. Now I can't get the SureSignal working as it won't register- which is the main reason that I switched to Vodafone. Very disappointed so far!
EDIT: thought that this would include the original message but the error I get on attempted registration is:
> Error invoking portlet "VAPGatewayController"
I too have used three different browsers- Safari, Chrome and IE. No change.
