We’ve created this thread to help with online problems that may occur when registering, or managing your Sure Signal.
You need an online account so you can register and manage your Sure Signal.
You’ll receive a text as part of the registration process, which contains a security code. This code is only valid for 20 minutes.
We understand that if you own a Sure Signal, you’ll most likely have little or no coverage, so we recommend you register online when you know you’ll be able to receive the text.
Business customers:
If you’re a business customer you can’t register this via My Account and you need to visit Sure Signal for business. Just click ‘Register a Sure Signal’ and enter your company name as the owner and your mobile number as the administrator - this way you can still make any changes needed.
Consumer customers:
You’ll receive a text or email to confirm that the Sure Signal is fully registered.
Please note that problems can occur, if the number that’s registered as the Owner of the Sure Signal, is different than the main number registered for online billing.
Check for planned maintenance:
Check the forum for any planned maintenance. If there is, this will be announced at the top of the Sure Signal forum.
Planned maintenance can involve changes to the registration system, so wait for this to complete and then retry.
Pending active:
If your online account shows the Sure Signal as ‘Pending Active’, then post in this thread and we’ll look into it further.
All other issues:
If you have any other problems with your Sure Signal registration or management, just post the details below. We’ll need the following:

Had one for 18 months without issue (rebooted when I started to become a darlek
Changed employer and got a new SS2, worked for a month, nothing but problems for the last 8 months or so.
Still get the BEA issues, but called 191 and got the device re-activated (the benefits of large corporates!!!) now waiting the 24 hours to see if that worked

To whom it may concern.
After nearly two weeks of repeated frustration, I am genuinely asking for the final time if you are going to come clean about the myriad of problems surrounding the Sure Signal equipment that myself & many other users are experiencing?
The service offered by the forum is less than poor, that is, when questions are actually answered.
I ask this as if you can't reply to my message, then I have decided to cancel my account at the earlies opportunity.
I'm sure that you will not miss one more customer but I consider that to a shameful reflection of how large corporations treat their customers today.
All I really want if for the equipment that you sold me & the service I pay for to work. It's not too much to ask, it is?

Hi - I am having a problem registering my VSS.
Every time I attempt to register the sure signal box it says the site is down for maintenance. This has been going on for a few days.
Please can you help me out?
Thanks
Russell

Ok so here goes my second attempt, as no-one bothered to reply the first time! I am still unable to register online, my serial number is 40122452440, If you are aware that a problem exists (as other forum members indicate) then please let us know so that we dont have to keep wasting time checking everyday. I am happy to patiently wait for it to be corrected as long as i know when to expect it to be up and running.
I notice that there is a return policy of 7 days, pleased note that i consider this forum entry to be notice that there is a problem and although i will wait a while for it to be resolved, if it is not done soon i will return it and expect a full refund even if the 7 days have expired.
Thanks

Same here. No response at all it seems. I cannot register the Sure Signal device due to the sever error. Please provide some sort of feedback to at least acknowledge the problem.

I am also having problems registeriing the sure signal. Keep getting the following message
Error invoking portlet "VAPGatewayController"
The source of this error is:
com.bea.wsrp.faults.v1.OperationFailedExceptionImpl: Internal Server Error: null; nested exception is: javax.servlet.ServletException.; nested exception is: com.bea.wsrp.faults.v1.OperationFailedExceptionImpl: null; nested exception is: javax.servlet.ServletException at com.bea.wsrp.FaultInstanceFactory.<clinit>(FaultInstanceFactory.java:44) at com.bea.wsrp.proxy.ProxyBase.raiseFault(ProxyBase.java:563) at com.bea.wsrp.proxy.ProxyBase.invoke(ProxyBase.java:464)
followed by a load of other error messages.
What do I need to do to get registered???

You'll have to wait about 24 hours for them to acknowledge your message, and even then they don't appear to accept that there is a global problem with Sure Signal. I am still waiting after several days. If this isn't sorted out soon then I'm using my 7 day grace period and heading back to O2.
Incidentally, I just discovered Vodafone don't even run Visual Voicemail for iPhone which is a substantial inconvenience. Signal is worse than O2 where I live in Central London, and if Sure Signal can't make it better, then I'm just wasting everyone's time.
