Unable to register, add or remove users

We’ve created this thread to help with online problems that may occur when registering, or managing your Sure Signal.

You need an online account so you can register and manage your Sure Signal.

You’ll receive a text as part of the registration process, which contains a security code. This code is only valid for 20 minutes.

We understand that if you own a Sure Signal, you’ll most likely have little or no coverage, so we recommend you register online when you know you’ll be able to receive the text.

Business customers:

If you’re a business customer you can’t register this via My Account and you need to visit Sure Signal for business. Just click ‘Register a Sure Signal’ and enter your company name as the owner and your mobile number as the administrator - this way you can still make any changes needed.

Consumer customers:

You’ll receive a text or email to confirm that the Sure Signal is fully registered.

Please note that problems can occur, if the number that’s registered as the Owner of the Sure Signal, is different than the main number registered for online billing.

Check for planned maintenance:

Check the forum for any planned maintenance. If there is, this will be announced at the top of the Sure Signal forum.

Planned maintenance can involve changes to the registration system, so wait for this to complete and then retry.

Pending active:

If your online account shows the Sure Signal as ‘Pending Active’, then post in this thread and we’ll look into it further.

All other issues:

If you have any other problems with your Sure Signal registration or management, just post the details below. We’ll need the following:

• Exact error message
• Step by step instructions for how to recreate the issue
• Operating system
• Browser and browser version

Problem:

As soon as I try to add any new users, I get a huge web-page error, and on checking again, no user has been added. The web page worked fine last week adding users under another account, using the same browser, from the same computer.

OS: Win XP SP3.

Browser: IE 8

Sure Signal SN: 40130435478.

Okay, I've de-registered the Sure Signal from the other account, etc, moved it to my own account, registered it successfully, and now I'm the admin.

 I'll be honest, after 2 weeks of messing about with Sure Signal, in between being a mobile I.T. engineer for Bristol & SW England, I'm on the point of telling my boss this is not a viable product and sending it back.

It does not have to be this complex and this... 'fragile' to run a simple 3G hotspot.

I've just been given one of these at work and have set it up the same as the one I have at home. I've just read on here that set-up for a Business account is different. Is this the case?

I'm having trouble adding numbers (I may have got round this now) but the white internet light is flashing (v4)

Through various means, I think it is fixed. The only thing is I'm not sure peoples phones are connecting. I'd rather not remove and re-add everyone as the directors etc have had a few texts already!

That's great! I've given your Sure Signal a resync from our end you'll just need to do a factory reset, this will not effect the users

• Hold the reset button till all the lights come on or flash (about 30 seconds)
• Keeping the rest button held, remove and re-insert the power lead
• Once all the lights come on or flash, release the reset button
• The VSS should come online within the hour

Please let us know how you get on.

I have bought a Sure Signal from someone who has closed their account and has contacted Vodafone who have told them it is deregistered.

However, when I type in the the seriel number it says it is still registered. What can I do? The seriel number is: 40120506254.
